Norman Mathieson      
    Norman Mathieson studied Fine Art at Dundee and later completed his degree in Fine Art Printmaking, at Glasgow School of Art. He has held positions of Visiting Lecturer and Visiting Artist at academic institutions in the North and in addition to his printmaking has held a formal appointment as an officer of the Glasgow Print Studio.

Norman Mathieson uses a variety of techniques in his printmaking. His work is held by a number of collections in the UK, some commercial and some private. The awards that Norman Mathieson has received include those from the British Council – for travel to Arizona, and to Mumbai and Baroda – from the Nagasawa Art Park, Japan - for residency and workshop - and from the Scottish Arts Council – for research and development.

The exhibitions to which Norman Mathieson has contributed include numerous UK venues. Overseas he has shown his work in Japan, Slovenia, India and Hungary. Mathieson’s design for a rug draws on the heat and hot colours of the desert.
