Peter Haxworth
Peter Haxworth has many years of professional experience in commercial design. This has encompassed the development of structural systems for furniture and other end uses, furniture design, space planning and interior design.

Turning now to his designs for rugs, Peter Haxworth says: “With a great-grandfather, great uncle and grandfather before me, all of whom were involved in producing designs for fabrics, wallpapers, rugs and domestic interiors, my feeling for rugs must be in the blood – perhaps some textile gene that I have inherited”.

Peter Haxworth’s designs for rugs have been developed over several decades. They are based on a standardised design motif used in multiples at various scales and in many different colourways. They are an exercise intended to demonstrate the wide range and character of end result that can be generated from limited design means.
